Framed Paper

GREAT IDEA. I found this on the JCaroline Creative website in their "How To" section. Find some inexpensive frames, great paper, and put them together! I'm definitely doing this.

Fabric Co-op & Cool Stuff

Some of you have been wanting to know about the Fabric Co-op I keep talking about. HERE is a link to the group page with the email address of the woman who organizes everything. Send her an email if you're interested in joining the group.

I rarely jump in on a fabric order unless it's from one of my favorite designers like Sandi Henderson or Heather Bailey and such. There hasn't been one that I've participated in since the Farmer's Market line came out. I'm REALLY hoping they do the new Heather Bailey line .
Until then, I'm vowing to camp out at my front door until my Farmer's Market order arrives. It's paid for and on it's way! (loud scream) I've waited HOW LONG?! It was in May that I did this post, hyperventilating, nearly unconscious. Let's just say that I'm excited. I probably won't do anything with the fabric, either - I'll just hang it up and look at it.

To pass the time away, I scour Etsy and drool. I found this in "Robyn's Jewelry Box" that I totally need! I love it! I'm trying not to eat junk, so if I can't eat it then surely I can WEAR it, right?! Or is that working against myself? I don't know. As long as it doesn't SMELL like chocolate, I'm okay.

And since my blog name is "A Feathered Nest", I absolutely think it's imperative that I have one of these! Nests are symbolic of hope, home, and family - and I would definitely wear one of these. But WHICH ONE?!

Mini Mania

This one must have sold because I can't find it. It was under the name "les chic".

Alright - enough time wasting. Back to the front door to wait...

Cooking 101 - Mazurka Bars

First of all, could there be anything more beautiful than the colors of FRUIT?! Look at these colors! Nature truly has the most YUMMY colors!!

Okay, back to the bars. My friend Kadie made these the other day and they are SO GOOD. And, if you can ignore butter like I can, I seriously think these could be considered a health food. Oats, berries, fruit, whole wheat flour...it doesn't get any better than this, girls.

Because I'm a little "slow" I called these Berzerka Bars for the longest time but it FITS, right? I went completely berzerk over these because it's like having a homemade granola bar with fruit on top. Thanks, Kadie, for introducing yet ANOTHER amazing dessert I'm going to have to try hard to avoid...

MAZURKA BARS

(I doubled this recipe to fit in my large 11 x 15 pan)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

2 c. oats
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. dark brown sugar (or light brown - whatever you have)
1/2 c. coconut
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (I used pecans)
1/2 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt
1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
1 t. vanilla

Mix all ingredients together and press into a greased square pan. Top with fresh sliced peaches, berries, or whatever you like. Press the fruit lightly into the crumb mixture.

Bake at 325 degrees for 40-50 minutes. They should look dry on top.

**For Fall flavors, add some cinnamon and nutmeg and use thinly sliced apples instead of berries. It would also be fun to add mini chocolate chips to the mixture, too!
